Miyama Cycling Tour

Welcome to Miyama, and welcome to our Peaceful Cycling Tour.

Welcome to Miyama, and welcome to our Peaceful Cycling Tour.

Before we start cycling, let me tell you a little about this beautiful countryside area of Kyoto.

As you’ve already experienced, it takes only about 90 minutes to get here from the busy crowds around Kyoto Station.
But compared to Kyoto or Osaka, you’re now entering a completely different world.

There’s no railway station here,
no pachinko parlors — Japanese gambling pinball places —
and not even convenience stores like 7-Eleven.
(smile)

So personally, I like to call Miyama “a hidden gem of Kyoto.”

Miyama is located in the central part of Kyoto Prefecture, and it is made up of many small villages along the Yura River.

About the Author

Hello, I’m your local cycling guide in Miyama, Kyoto.

I run Peaceful Cycling Tour to share the quiet beauty of Miyama with visitors from around the world. This area is known for its thatched-roof houses, clear rivers, green mountains, and peaceful satoyama landscapes.

My tour is not about speed or distance. It is about enjoying the countryside slowly, meeting local scenery, and feeling the calm rhythm of rural Japan.

I look forward to cycling with you in Miyama.
