Hello, I’m your cycling guide in Miyama, Kyoto.

I’m 66 years old and have spent most of my career in the travel industry, mainly planning overseas tours for Japanese travelers. After retirement, I decided to start a new chapter — sharing a special part of Japan with visitors from around the world.

I have always loved the outdoors, especially cycling and mountain climbing. I am still working toward my goal of climbing all of Japan’s 100 Famous Mountains, and so far I have climbed 51.

When I was a child, more than 50 years ago, peaceful countryside landscapes like Miyama could still be found throughout Japan. Much of that scenery has gradually disappeared, but Miyama still preserves the mountains, clear rivers, rice fields, and traditional villages that remind me of the Japan I knew when I was young.

That is why I started Peaceful Cycling Tour.

I want you to experience Miyama slowly — not through the window of a car, but from a bicycle. Feel the fresh air, hear the river, and discover everyday life in the countryside.

My English is still a work in progress, and I continue to study every day. I hope to share with you, in my own words, the beauty and stories of Miyama.

This tour is not about speed or distance. It is about slowing down and experiencing another side of Kyoto — and another side of Japan.
